Course Content

Orientation

This section serves as course preparation and provides the necessary background for the practical modules to follow.

This part of the course serves as an introduction. It will provide you with the basic knowledge you need to understand the subsequent practical modules. It is important to read this section and make sure that you understand the ideas before you start the more difficult parts of the course.

Module 1 – Sand

Sand is not just the most effective growing media ever devised, it’s central to our existence. No sand – no civilisation! This section addresses the media upon which the world is based.

Sand is an incredibly important material for the survival of humans, and not just for growing plants. Sand has been used and is still an important material for building structures and roads. It is also an integral part of many everyday objects like electronics and glass. Without sand, we wouldn’t be able to do many of the things that are essential for our civilizations.

This section of the program talks about the importance of sand in the world. It explains how sand is the main component in building civilizations and is essential for the success of an iAVs sandgarden.

Module 2 – Water

Water is LIFE! This section is where we learn how to collect, test, adjust, apply and conserve this precious resource.

Water is an essential resource for all life. It is necessary for both humans and plants to survive, so it is very important that we manage it properly. Without water, life as we know it would not be able to exist. This module of the course will teach us how to collect, test, adjust, apply, and conserve water so that our food security and the quality of food we eat will be improved.

Water quality can have a significant impact on the nutrient density of foods. Poor water quality can lead to contamination, which in turn affects the nutritional value of food. Contaminated water may contain harmful bacteria or chemicals that are not safe for human consumption and could cause health problems if consumed. Additionally, poor water quality can reduce crop yields due to lack of nutrients needed for healthy plant growth and development, resulting in lower nutrient content in harvested crops.

Module 3 – Design

The size of your iAVs will be driven by your need/want and its size will impact its location. This section proposes several designs and considers your layout options.

The size of your iAVs will be based on what you need it for and how much space you have available to use. This section of the research paper talks about different designs for the iAVs and different ways you can use the space you have.

Module 4 – Build

How you build an iAVs will be determined by where you live and what resources are available to you. This section considers a range of construction options of varying degrees of cost-effectiveness and complexity.

This section of the paper discusses the different construction options for iAVs, which are influenced by where you live and what resources you have access to. It looks at the different levels of cost and complexity involved when choosing how to build your iAVs.

Module 5 – Setup

Its unique ‘architecture’ is what separates iAVs from any other body of sand…and from other growing methods. In this section, we learn how to set the sandbed up for organic food production. Once the set-up is complete, it’s time to add the visible organisms of an iAVs – the fish and the plants.

In this section, we learn how to create an iAVs sand bed specifically for growing organic food. This involves setting the sand bed up in a specific way to help organic food production.

Module 6 – Fish

As daunting as it may seem at first glance, growing fish the iAVs way is easy. While iAVs is principally about organic horticulture, its integration of fish leverages the efficiency of a sandgarden enormously. This section deals with what’s required to raise in a clean healthy environment.

This particular section of the research paper focuses on what is necessary to raise fish, such as a suitable environment that is clean and healthy. The use of fish enhances the productivity of a sandgarden significantly, making it much more efficient.

Module 7 – Plants

For each kilogram of fish feed, iAVs gives us 0.75kg of fish and at least 6.75kg of vegetables…so plants are the main game in a sandgarden. This section considers the plant species that can be grown, plant spacings and other horticultural matters.

for every kilogram of fish feed that is added to the sandgarden, it will produce 0.75kg of fish and at least 6.75kg of vegetables. This means that the sandgarden is a very efficient way of producing a bounty of food. In this section of the paper, the researcher is discussing different types of plants that can be grown in an iAVs sandgarden. They are looking at which types of plants will be the most suitable for growing in this type of environment and how plants should be spaced when planted. The researcher is also discussing other horticultural matters, which are issues related to the layout and care of a garden.

Module 8 – Operate

Now that we’re ready to go, it’s time to realise iAVs’ potential. In this section, we look at the day-to-day process that enables the iAVs bio-machine to produce clean – fresh – organic food in abundance.

This section explains the day-to-day process of using the iAVs bio-machine to produce clean, fresh, organic food in large quantities. This process includes the building of the iAVs and the setup, maintenance, and careful management of the fish and plants to optimize the production of food. This is the beginning of a new food production future, meaning that this process could become the standard in the production of food.

In this section, we learn how to carry out the various tasks necessary in order to operate an iAVs sandgarden and make it successful. This includes setting up the sandbed for organic food production and adding the edible organisms – the fish and the plants – so that the iAVs bio-machine can produce healthy, clean and fresh organic food in abundance.

Summary

Conclusion

Building and operating an iAVs sandgarden will resolve any concerns that you might have about your ability to provide secure supplies of clean nutritious food. As good as it is, our bio-machine is – at this stage – simply a tool. Since the performance difference between one iAVs and another comes down to the operator, our future efforts will be directed to fitting out and fine-tuning our iAVs bio-machine for peak performance.

Far from being an end, this is – for those who choose to grasp it – this is the beginning of a new food production future.

Building an iAVs sandgarden is a process that involves various steps such as designing, constructing and setting up the sandbed for growing organic food. Once the set-up is complete, operators can add fish and plants to the sandgarden. By following the steps and operating the iAVs sandgarden, the user will be able to produce and obtain a secure supply of fresh, clean and nutritious food.

The research paper is suggesting that the iAVs is a very effective and valuable tool, however the difference in performance between one sandgarden and another depends on the operator – meaning the person running the iAVs sandgarden. This means that the success of an iAVs sandgarden depends on the skill, effort, and knowledge of the operator.
